TSAF, Tree Spirit Action Force is a jewellery project initiated as a reaction on how the natural forests and wildlife are disappearing in the northern European countries. Now the wood industry has turned 90 % of the forests to cultured areas, big areas first disforested and then replanted. Animals are kept away for plant protection.

Trees and forests have always been strongly connected to humans. Tree spirits belong to common deities in so many cultures in the world. These pieces of jewellery are a call for help to the deities to struggle for the base of existence, ours and theirs. I imagine a guerilla, an action force, under command of tree deities from different corners of the world, masked so we can see them.

The material comes from fallen branches from a forest close by. Cut in one longer and one shorter piece they became each a brooch with stand. The top piece is the brooch and was inside carved to a humanoid creature and then covered with a small face mask made of rayon. A material, though heavily processed, made of tree fibers. The brooch mechanism, in oxidized silver and titanium needle, is integrated in the top piece and function as well as a fit-in part to secure the brooch in the stand.
